Update!

Finally after 5, (yes 5 offers) we are finally UNDER CONTRACT!!! If everything goes as planned we are scheduled to close on August 27. I have my fingers, toes, and whatever else crossed that it goes smoothly!

Dates with Mom

I planned a couple of "dates" with Holden this week. First, on Tuesday we went to Regal Cinemas Free Family Movies and saw Everyone's Hero. It's a cute movie about baseball, that the late Christopher Reeves wrote/directed or did something. We both enjoyed the movie and especially the popcorn. Our second date was on Wednesday, when we went to the Roswell Cultural Arts Center to see Everyone Love Pirates Puppet Show. It was both funny and exciting. You know every little boy loves pirates so this was a delight!
I think Holden enjoyed the undivided attention from me. However, on Wednesday he wanted Rylan to go with us but it was during his nap. We will plan for him to join us next time.

Cowboys?

The weather here is gorgeous!! It almost feels like fall. Since it was a little cool this morning, I dressed Rylan in a cute cowboy pants outfit. As soon as Holden saw the outfit, he insisted that he dress as a cowboy too. I can hear, "Mommas don't let your babies grow-up to be cowboys" ringing in my ears. But aren't they cute little cowboys!

Blueberry Picking

Kevin was in town this weekend, so for some family fun we went blueberry picking. The one thing my boys love to do is to be outside! And going to a farm was heaven for Holden. We actually picked quite a few, a little over a pound. Not too bad for our first time with the kids! I promised Holden that we would have breakfast for dinner tomorrow night. I'm thinking blueberry pancakes-Yum!!

Fearless???

I think I have said many times that I do NOT believe that Holden has an ounce of fear in his body. He will try anything! With that said, here goes the story...
This past week we attended a birthday party at the Roswell Country Club pool. The pool area has several different pools, fountains, diving boards, and water slides to entertain. Holden was content playing in the zero entry pool with his buddies until he spotted the water slides. Next thing I see is Holden marching right over and climbing the stairs. Let me stop for a moment and give you a visual, this was not a small slide, this was a winding water park slide! I thought I was going to have a heart attack! However, the lifeguard assured me he would be fine and that, I quote, "the slide goes slow". So much for going slow, here comes Holden head first into the water! Thankfully, he had on his floaties. But the look of shock on his face, I knew the slide was not what he thought it would be. After making his way to the side of the pool, he spent the remainder of the party playing under the water mushroom and where his feet could touch the bottom. Maybe he does have a small amount of fear, which is a good thing!

4th of July

The boys and I decided to make a trip to Cincinnati for the July 4th weekend. Kevin's parents wanted to join so we made it into a family trip.
Here are some pictures from the weekend:
Welcome to Cincinnati, Ohio!
Our realtor told us about this famous ice cream shoppe The Cone so we tried it out. We bought 5 ice cream cones for less than $11.00...what a bargain!

Even Rylan enjoyed an ice cream treat!

A down home 4th of July Parade in Hamilton, Ohio
Holden and I shooting fireworks-we had so much fun!

The view from Kevin's apartment. Not a bad way to wake up in the morning...a golf coarse, beautiful landscaping, and a pond full of ducks!

What A Day!!!

Today started out busy, as usual. I could list everything, however, it is too long for even me to remember. We made plans after swim lessons to meet some friends at the park for a picnic and fun. Well, Mother Nature had different plans, it rained! Alternative plans were to meet at their house to play and have lunch. If I did not have enough stress and chaos to begin with, Holden had an accident. Apparently, he was running or tripped (I am not really sure) with a musical instrument in his mouth. As you can imagine, he was screaming and crying profusely (that is an understatement). Since there was blood and a noticeable chipped tooth. I thought it might be a good idea to visit the dentist to check everything out. Thankfully, it was not serious damage to his gums or permanent teeth. But now he will be better known as "Snaggle Tooth Holden." I really do think he was born an accident waiting to happen. You got to love him though!

And thankfully, my friend Jenny is patient and calm. She entertained Rylan while I dealt with Holden traumatized!

What a day! I have to just hope tomorrow will be better!

"Snaggle Tooth Holden" (The right top front tooth)This is our dentist office...a tree house! I just love it! I am thinking this may be the theme for the new play room.

While we were at the office having x-rays, we were due for our cleaning so we went ahead and had that done too. The report is...cavity free!

Look Mom...

These days with traveling and having to be out of the house for showings, Holden naps have been hit or miss. Instead of trying to fight with him to take a nap, I usually end up taking him out of his room after 30 minutes or until I hear him practicing his super hero jumps from his bed. (One day the jumps are going to end up with an injury. Mark my words.) Of course on this particular day, his nap was a miss. While Rylan was sleeping, we decided to decorate a cupcake for a treat. I pulled out the paper plates and turned to get the icing when Holden said, "Look Mom, I'm Mickey Mouse." I was stunned that his little imagination thought of it. He really did look like Mickey Mouse. If only he would use that same thought process to listening and following directions we would be great! But I guess you can not have it all:)

Dynamo Swim

I decided after Kevin left for Ohio, I would start Holden's daily swim lessons. I had heard mixed reviews about the lessons at Lifetime (our gym/pool) and couple of others around town that I settled on an actual swimming school. I am so glad that I did! Dynamo Swim specializes in swimming lessons, competitive swim teams and the home of two Olympic swimmers. Which I must confess that I did not actually know this until I went and saw the signs hanging in the building. Holden loves it and now officially can hold his breath and swim to the side of the pool. That is great leaps from a little one who loves to stay on the stairs and/or rely on his floaties to swim. Hopefully, with a couple of more weeks of lessons he will continue to master his swimming skills.

Just Wear the Hat!

Some days I just do not want to clean up another lunch or rather mess. In an effort to keep my sanity, we usually dine at the local Chick-fil-a at least once a week. Holden always has to have two things: an orange balloon and a hat. For some reason, Rylan just wants to eat the hat rather than wear it. However, Holden will try his best to keep Rylan's on during lunch. To this day, he has not been successful. At least he has not given up his thought of the two of them pretending to be Chick-Fil-A workers. Perhaps someday soon Rylan will just give in and wear the hat.
