New Year's Eve 2009

The days of actually seeing the ball drop at midnight have long past! But that does not stop us from having a little party of our own. The boys enjoyed cake pops, champagne, and the night would not be complete without a countdown and party poppers! CHEERS!!! Happy New Year!!

Merry Christmas

It seems like the month of December just flew by! I really think we have been going non-stop for the past 2 weeks between shopping, shipping, cooking, delivering goodies, preschool activities, a couple of holiday outings, packing/unpacking, and traveling, I have not had a chance to breathe it seems like. But it was all fun! Somehow on Christmas Eve my camera was misplaced so I had to use my sister's. But here are a couple of pictures from my camera on Christmas Eve at Memaw and Granddaddy's...

Holden and Ashley watching movies
Rylan's favorite place in the rocker with a treat in hand! Aunt Becky gave Rylan and Holden Superhero capes with their initials. As you can see these were a BIG hit!More pictures to come!
On a side note, we hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with great memories! Merry Christmas!

Date with Mom-Princess & the Frog

I think Holden has been talking about Princess and the Frog for months now, he said "that is going to be "our" date. " But he does not really understand time, and he did not know that it was opening this weekend. As a surprise I had bought the color magic Princess and the Frog for him on Friday. He really loves these markers and coloring pages!!! For another surprise, Saturday morning I told him we were going to see the movie! I thought he was going to go crazy...he loves movies and popcorn. And I made special cookies for our date too. (Might I add, this was a last minute idea I had and I could not find a frog cookie cutter anywhere! These were the best I could do! Please don't laugh.)The movie was really cute and both of us really enjoyed our date together!

Busy But Fun Day!

Kevin had some extra days from moving, not exactly sure why he did not use them when we moved but that is another story. He planned to take off Thursday, but when we woke up we were greeted with snow again!!! This time I was prepared! I bundled the boys up, and I do mean bundled, Rylan was just like Ralphy from A Christmas Story and could barely stand up, and headed outside. After the snow had melted away and Rylan had napped, we headed down to the Cincinnati Museums at Union Terminal. They had a beautiful holiday train display that we visited along with the History Museum and Children's museum. What a fun day!

Our First Snow!!!

IT SNOWED!!! We woke up this morning to our first snow in Ohio! Holden could not wait to run outside. Thankfully, he let me put a hat and jacket on him! And Rylan just wanted down to run! (notice the boys are still in their pj's...I think it was not even 7:00 yet) I promise I changed both boys into warm and dry clothes after we came inside! Even though the snow did not last, we enjoyed waking to such a beautiful surprise! Forecast is calling for more of the white stuff on Friday and Saturday! We are hoping for alot, we are dying to try out our new snow suits and sleds!

25 Days of Christmas

It seems like the holidays are such a busy time. With that said, I planned a calendar of events to do each day up until Christmas. Our calendar is filled with events or activities each day. Some events consist of writing a letter to Santa, making cookies, gingerbread houses, and driving the neighborhood to see lights to name a few. And we kicked off our 25 days last week, here are some of the highlights....

Making Gingerbread Cookies
Here is Rylan just wanting a taste of the cookies!

Horse & Carriage Christmas Parade in Lebanon, Ohio. I just love the downtown! The sidewalks are cobblestone, the buildings are all historic and beautiful! Just take a peak!

What a beautiful parade! There were 163 horse and carriages complete with gorgeous Clydesdale horses and miniature horses. But it was FREEZING!!! Hence, the boys bundled up!

And some fun lunch/breakfast
Trust me I will not post everyday for the next 25 days but some of the highlights. Happy Holidays!

Half-Pint Kids

I took the boys to a Half-Pint Kids cooking class at Whole Foods. Best of all it was FREE! The next couple of weeks revolve around Christmas, which we are looking forward to. This week we made snowflake tortilla cookies. Holden enjoyed making the snowflakes but did not enjoy eating them. Oh well, but he told the instructor he could not wait until next week's class. On the other hand, Rylan just wanted to get a taste! (Which he ended up eating the enitre snowflake!)

Decking the Halls

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We may not have pictures on the wall, but we are in the Christmas spirit!
