Just one of those nights...

Every night at bath time, both boys think it completely hilarious to run around the upstairs naked until the bath water is ready. Tonight was just like every other night, running around giggling, yelling, you get the picture. Rylan comes into the bedroom where I am gathering pj's and tells me "I go pee-pee" I immediately start looking around and see nothing. Not in the little potty, not in the floor and so on. Then he goes back to running around and laughing. Again he comes back over to me and says, "I go poopy." Now, I am worried! So I go on an all out search through the upstairs and still do not find anything. I ask Holden about Rylan going potty and he says, "No they have been chasing each other." Relieved, I go to run the water....yep, Rylan went potty alright, in the bath tub! But before I could say anything, Holden looks over at Rylan and says, "RYLAN! How are we ever going to get any M&M's! You are suppose to pee-pee and poopy in the potty not the bath tub! OK!" Rylan just looks at him and says, "OK!".

Yes, it was just one of those nights that all you can do is laugh!

Fall on the Farm!

To kick off the first days of fall we visited Blooms & Berries for their annual Fall on the Farm festivities. The boys loved it! And really what was there not to love about it! This is the same farm we visited this summer to go strawberry picking. So we knew ahead of time, we would not be disappointed. Some of our friends decided to join us for some fall fun too. Here are just a few of the highlights from Saturday morning...
Pumpkin races,
Ghost Egg throwing,
Corn box (corn kernels instead of sand) This was Rylan's favorite place to be!
Pumpkin paintball, I am sure you can guess this was one of Holden's favorite places,
All of the kids were off and running through the corn maze,Hay bales golore with slides and plenty of room to climb. Here is our attempt to capture a picture of the group.... and here they are a moment later... It just makes me laugh!
And we could not go the farm without going on a hayride to the pumpkin patch,Rylan was thrilled for the hayride through Pumpkin Town! I saved the best for last...7 acres of sunflowers! It was gorgeous! There was a walking path to enjoy their beauty. This was my favorite! Seriously, it was breathtaking!

I think it is easy to see Fall on the Farm was enjoyed by all. This is a definitely family tradition for years to come! Happy Fall Y'all!

Quote of the Day

On the way to school this morning, Holden was playing with his football guys, while I was driving and Rylan was dancing. Just to give you the visual!

When all of a sudden I hear Holden say, "KAPOW, OHH, you just got the hell knocked out of you blue team." I immediately said, "What did you say?" to which Holden says, "UH, What, Nothing" Again I say, "No, what did you say, you will not get in trouble. Just tell me." So then he tells me again, "The blue team just got the hell knocked out of them." I knew my ears were not deceiving me. So I proceeded to tell him we do not say that, it is not very nice and so on. Then he says, "But Daddy says it when he is watching football, and I am just pretending with the football guys." Again I say, "Yeah, but let's just not say that. You know sometimes Daddy does not say nice things when he is watching football but I will have a talk with him." So I call Kevin to tell him the story, he is laughing and then says, "Well, at least he used it in the right context" Hmm...these two are like two peas in a pod!

Young Explorers

With no preschool scheduled on Mondays, it is our day to craft, play, and explorer! Yes, I know I could spend the morning catching up on laundry, but what fun is that! Instead, this morning we made our second trip to the Cincinnati Nature Center to go hiking, plus it was free Mondays! On our last trip we hiked three trails. This time we began on the Geological Trail but somehow ended up on a totally different one! I am thinking I should not be the one reading the map! Thankfully, my little explorers did not seem to mind! There were creeks to cross, bridges to walk across, tons of stairs to go down, tons of rock stairs to climb, and some limbs that got in the way.
After 2 hours of hiking we made it back to the visitors center for our picnic lunch. Whew! These two were starving! (Don't worry Rylan was on my hip 90% of the time!) But our trip would not have been complete with out feeding the turtles and fish. A must with these boys!
What a great way to start our busy week!

It's Off To Apple Picking We Go...

I LOVE fall! Cooler weather, leaves changing, fun fall activities, pumpkins, and apples! While living in Georgia we started a family fall tradition, apple picking. After church this morning, we kept our family tradition going by visiting one of our favorite family owned farms, Irons Fruit Farm. We enjoyed a quick wagon ride to the orchard to begin our picking. Now while the crop this season was not as plentiful as last year, it was still so much fun. However, I think the boys had just as much fun feeding the goats as they did picking apples.I really just love fall and all the fun family activities! There are so many fun activities and outings to look forward to this year. I can not wait to enjoy the season!
