Bunnies and Egg treats

It has been a busy week of Easter activities around here. Holden and I made pine cone bunnies. Which sounds a little crazy but actually turned out pretty cute. Last week, while we were walking around the neighborhood, we gathered pine cones not knowing what in the world we were going to do with them, we gathered several anyways. Then I came upon this simple Easter craft! With a little glue, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, and a cotton ball, we came up with these cute bunnies. And they would not be bunnies without their little bunny tails, now would they. For several weeks, the boys have commented about the Rice Krispie commercial with the kids making the egg rice krispie treats with the surprise in the middle and how they wanted to make them. Well, I went online to get the directions but after reading how you molded it by hand to look like an egg, I knew we had to come up with something different. There was no way they would be able to mold an egg without getting frustrated. So we came up with our own recipe. First we made the rice krispies...these two love to help out! Of course they had to taste the treat batter to make sure it was suitable for the eggs. Once they decide it tasted pretty good, they spooned the treats into each side of the egg, added some mini M&M's for a "surprise", and finally closed the eggs. A simple egg treat that is cute and yummy too!
