Exploring our local parks

Thursday we spent the entire day exploring a couple of our local parks. We met up with my friend Sarah and the kids participated in the parks summer games. They played noodle hockey...GOAL!, soccer, hula hoops, walked with elephant feet, and played with the parachute. Once the kids were good and hot, we headed over to the water park. The kids never get tired of running through the water. Just look at theses smiles, pure delight!

Typically, we would have spent the remainder of the day playing at home but instead after dinner I took the boys to "Concerts by the Lake". Does this lake look familiar? Yes, this is the same one we took the boys fishing earlier in the summer. It is so close to the house, this has become our new "go to" park. Once a month they have a band that comes and plays by the lake, what a great setting for a concert, and what a perfect night it was. The concert is kid friendly and did I mention free! We brought our picnic blanket and enjoyed the sounds of Fleetwood Mac, Beetles, and some others from the 70's. Holden an Rylan did not know the songs but they did not seem to mind, they danced, ate popcorn, and played in the kids area too. What could be more fun than spending the day exploring our local parks and all they have to offer. And did I mention the entire day was FREE, even better!
