Season Opener {Holden}

We had a busy weekend with games this weekend.  Holden had his first baseball game too.  This year he went up a league to 8U.  Which probably does not mean much but it really is a huge difference from last year.  One, they started indoor practices back in March and two, their games have umpires and they keep score.    Also, it seems like these "little" boys grew up over night.

Saturday, the Braves were ready to for their season opener.  Holden was a little nervous but he did not let his nerves get the best of him.  He had 3 at bats and 3 base hits.

After his first hit, Kevin congratulated him and told me later that his heart was beating so fast.

Poor thing.  But he did awesome!  The Braves ended up wining 15-0.

Rylan has become the unofficial team batboy.  You know he always has to be where his big brother is at all times.

Tonight was game 2 and I know it will surprise you but I left my camera at home.  I am kicking myself because I missed the look on Holden's face when he got a player out at 1st and also when he made the throw from the outfield to get a player out at 2nd!  I know there will be many more plays this season but tonight was priceless and I think he grew 2 inches taller with pride!  What a way to begin the season. Go Braves!

Rylan's first T-ball Game

After many seasons of sitting on the sidelines, the time has finally come for Rylan to play T-ball. He has been looking forward to this day for so long.  Kevin is the coach for his team and decided to let his little 4 year olds vote on the team name.  You know with 4 year olds, you never know what you are going to get.  So now even though they are black, they are the Reds.

The Reds had their first game Friday night and Rylan was beyond excited.  He came home from preschool at 11:30 and got dressed for his game, which was not until 6:00, but he could not wait.

First the kiddies started out with some warm-ups before the game.  I just love watching little ones do jumping jacks!

One is always jumping and then clapping later.  It is hilarious.  After warm ups  it was game time!  And if this picture does not sum up the scene I do not know what will.  Rylan is all set ready to play ball while the little girl behind him is playing in the dirt!

Rylan was all business, once the ball was hit, he was ready to catch it.

And once he caught it, he made sure he made the play at first.

There were a couple of times he had to "dive" for the ball.

And we all know he is not opposed to getting dirty.  I suppose all those years of watching have paid off. He knew exactly what to do.  But I think one of the funniest plays was when he caught the ball and ran to 1st and the kid was out.  However, the kid decided to stay at 1st.  Well, Rylan being the outspoken person he is told the kid, "Your out!" and the kid looks at him and Rylan says again, "Um you do know you are out."

That's our Rylan for you!  Then another kid ran to 1st with the bat in his hands.   And lets just say, Rylan's expression says it all.

Batting was equally funny.

He hit with all his might and then ran with all his might.

And when he got to 1st the 1st  baseman missed the ball but then went to chase it.  When he came back to the base with the ball he did not know what to do so Rylan took the ball from him and threw it to the coach.

As I said watching 4 year olds play ball is probably one the funniest sights ever.  And to think the season has only begun.  I am sure we will be laughing all season long and cheering, Go Reds!!

Love at first bite?

At Leyton's 4 month appointment our pediatrician gave us the ok to begin solid foods.  At the time, he had a nasty virus and we both decided to wait until he was well before trying anything new.  Finally, our little man is back to normal and we decided to give it a try.  When I put him in his seat he looked so big.

At first, he was a little unsure and spit it out

but then he was looking for more.

However, again he spit it out.  Finally, he started getting the hang of it and swallowed a couple of spoonfuls.

Not sure if he liked his baby food or the spoon more.

I am thinking the spoon!

Oh those feet!!

Leyton found his hands a couple of weeks ago and ever since then, they have constantly been in his mouth.

Now he has found his feet.  He will lift them and then throw them down.  Which makes him laugh.

But his new favorite spot for his toes, are in his mouth!!

They must be pretty tasty because they are in his mouth all the time.  Oh, this little guy makes us laugh.

I wonder what he will discover next!

Museum Center Field Trip {Rylan}

Today Rylan's preschool class had a field trip to the Museum Center.  Thankfully, Kevin was able to work from home and watch Leyton, so I could attend the field trip too.  Rylan was so excited.  We all stayed together as a group throughout the exhibits.  First the kids played in the balls.

Rylan was running all over collecting balls so he could fill up the bucket before the big drop.

From there we made our way through the music,

grocery store, canoe,

pet hospital,

auto, and construction.

After lunch it was water works, which if you will notice, Rylan is soaked!!

Of coarse, he did not seem to mind.  Final stop was the tree house.

A fun day with my little 4 year old.
