Happy Thanksgiving!

In everything give thanks; for this is the will for you in Christ Jesus.  1 Thessalonians 5:18

Today as we count our blessings, we are grateful and thankful for our family, friends and especially these three wild turkeys.

Happy Thanksgiving from our turkeys to yours!

Turkey Tibits

It has been a busy month.  But since I love holidays and making fun foods for the kids, I knew we had to make some fun things for Thanksgiving.  Rylan loves to cook and make snacks for Holden as a surprise when he gets home from school so we had some "turkey" fun.

These turkeys ate it up so fast.
We made acorns for a treat one day too.

We had a turkey breakfast as well, Turkey waffles!

Which the boys loved. I can not believe it is almost Thanksgiving already!

Football has come to an end

I am a little late posting, but both Holden and Rylan's football seasons have come to an end.  Holden's regular season ended about two weekends ago.  His last game of the season ended with a win.

We played his friend Charlie again and despite the score, they were still friends after.

With the regular season over, we played in a tournament the following weekend.  Little did we know this tournament would be filled with All-Star team.  This is when a district takes the best kids from several teams to make one team.  This also was a tournament without a weight limit!  Talk about some HUGE boys.  I went to the game on Saturday, which was a beat down!  We lost 26-0.  Leyton and I decided not to go to the game on Sunday but during the game, Kevin text me and described a couple of players as "being 2 biscuits short of 150."  In other words, the team was huge, and again we lost.  Not exactly the outcome we had hoped for but it was just a tournament.  The boys took their loss in stride.

After having my reservations about tackle football, I will have to admit the season went really well.  Holden learned a lot, had some great plays and really enjoyed playing with this group of boys.  So much that we have already committed to playing again next fall with the same team.

Rylan's flag football season ended the same weekend.  This little guy was so excited all season.  These pictures of Rylan running through the tunnel at the beginning of the season describes just how much he loves everything he does.

The last game was frigid but that did not stop Rylan from running his "moves" for a touchdown.

This little guy is such a mess!!

His season was fi;;ed with touchdowns, flag pulls and lots of fun.  He had a blast playing and especially with his Dad as the coach.  He is already planning his next season too.  Basketball practice begins in two weeks, I am not sure the boys will know what to do with their free time but I am sure we will find something to do.

Thankful

At the beginning of this month I started asking the kids, "What are you thankful for?"  I usually do this on the way to school in the morning. {Just to start our day on a good note} So far they have been thankful for family, friends, football, sunshine and so forth.  Today when asked, Holden was thankful for baseball and Rylan was thankful for, "Mom's mixer.  Because she can make cookies."  Funny Kid!  His thoughts always revolve around food.

I took that as a hint and made cookies.

It's the little things and one more reason to be thankful.

11 Months Old!!!

As I post these pictures, I can not believe that in less than a month Leyton will be ONE!  It is unbelievable to me!   I will preface this post by saying, my timing with this months pictures was not exactly the best. Saturday was filled with football games, birthday parties and errands which meant that Leyton was exhausted and not in the mood for pictures so I opted to wait until Sunday.  However, Sunday was not much better, church and the time change had this little guy out of sorts.  But that's life with an 11 month old.  So here we go...As soon as I put his sticker on....it was off and in his mouth!

I tried again but he was having too much fun with this game of putting it in his mouth.  If he was not taking off his sticker, he was off and crawling.

He is still not walking but cruising like a champ!  I think in the next couple of weeks we will have a walker but then again, maybe not, we will just have to wait and see.  Leyton is still the most lovable little guy around and loves to be held and cuddled.  Some may called this "spoiled" but we like to call it "lovable".  He is the baby after all.   His brothers make him laugh all the time and it is easy to see how much he loves them, craziness and all!  It is hard to believe that it has almost been a year since this little guy entered our lives and stole our hearts. {More to come on this next month as we celebrate his First Birthday!}  I can not believe it is almost that time.  I am going to savor this next month as an infant before we enter into the world of toddlerhood.  Any bets on if he will smash his cake?  I am betting yes!  I can not wait!

Happy 11 Months Leyton!

Happy Halloween!!!

Halloween started off rainy, and it continued to rain all day.  Holden had his harvest party at school and I signed up for treats.  Since his class animal is an owl so I made little owls for the party.

Rylan's class party was was last week so he just had a normal day of school but we made teacher gifts to share.  "Bugs and Kisses"  My friend Cameron posted this idea and I loved it so much that I just had to borrow it.

Since this was Leyton first Halloween I tried to take some picture of this little rascal but he was too busy putting the baby pumpkins in his mouth.

The rain subsided for a moment and Kevin, Holden and Rylan headed out to Trick-or-treat while Leyton and I stayed at home and handed out candy.

It was not even 5 minutes after the boys left that the rain started coming down hard!  Not to mention the wind was blowing the rain sideways.  In other words, the weather was nasty! My crew cut their trick-or-treating short and ran home.

They were soaked!

Quickly they changed and curled up on the couch with their candy.  Not a perfect Halloween but we made the most of it despite the weather.  Better luck next year.  Until then, Happy Halloween from our Ninja Turtles.
