Moving on….

When our family relocated to Ohio five years ago, we had every intention of moving back south.  But after a few years, Cincinnati kind of grew on us.  It is a great place to raise kids. There are tons of farms, museums, attractions, really, I could go on and on.  Sure it has had it ups and downs, but as do most places.   However now, we have come to a new chapter in our lives.  Rather than moving south, God has a different plan for us.  We are relocating to Madison, Wisconsin.  Yes, it is a far cry from the south but we are looking forward to this new adventure together.  As we told the boys, Madison has lots of lakes, farms, and I am sure plenty of new snow activities that we can try this winter.

Every new adventure brings a roller coaster of emotions, especially when you have kids.  There is a quote from Hope Floats that says it best, "Beginnings are usually scary, endings are usually sad, but it's what's in the middle that counts.  So when you find yourself at the beginning,  just give hope a chance to float up, and it will."

So instead of being sad about saying goodbye to our lives here in Ohio, we will look to our new life in Wisconsin and say Hello!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

End of Soccer Season

Rylan first season of soccer has come to an end.  What a season it has been.  Rylan picked up the game quickly, not to mention, he is an aggressive little guy.

I was actually surprised by how fearless he was this season.  One thing is certain, he is the energizer bunny!  Constantly running, kicking and being in the mix of everything.  On his final game, Rylan scored a GOAL!

Leyton loves to run around the field as well.  To be honest, anything with a ball makes Leyton happy.

After the game, it was ice cream and medals!

It was such a fun season.  Rylan is already looking forward to playing in the fall.

Strawberry Picking

One of our favorite summer traditions is going strawberry picking as a family.  The boys and I love being outside as much as possible.  Kevin's parents were in town on Friday so I thought this would be a great outing for us.  Despite the cold winter and late snow, the strawberries were perfect!

This was the first year that Leyton was able to help pick too.

Well, I am not sure how much picking he did but I do know he did a whole lots of tasting!  This precious boy was eating nonstop!  His hands were covered with strawberry juice, his outfit was was stained red and he was having the best time.

Holden and Ryan were busying picking the best of the crop with their grandparents.

I knew it would not be long before they were tasting for "quality control" as well.

We ended up picking 11 pounds of strawberries. In other words, lots of yummy treats to come.

As we were leaving, we headed over to the asparagus farm.  The boys headed out to the fields and stocked up on asparagus.

Thankfully Holden and Rylan love asparagus as much as I do.

It was a perfect day for us out in the country.
