Everyday Joys {Week 52}

Well, its the last week of 2015.  Hard to believe that another year has come and gone.  The kids are growing and this past year was full of blessing and lessons more on that later.  Here is a little recap of our last days of 2015....

Christmas Eve was a full day with decorating cookies, candlelight service, family time and preparing for Santa.  It was hard to choose just one picture but one of my favorite church services all year is Christmas Eve.  "For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace."  Isaiah 9:6  {December 24}

Merry Christmas from our wild crew! {December 25}

Our second Christmas celebration with lots and lots of food and family.  {December 26}

After lots of playing and laughs, it was time for Aunt Jen-Jen to head back to Atlanta.   {December 27}

Laughs galore with Rylan's new game Pie Face!  {December 28}

Snow day!  {December 29}

Hot cocoa and Sleigh Rides through the woods.  {December 30}

After a full day of sledding, ice skating and playing in the snow, we decided that staying up until midnight was overrated.  So here we go counting it down in 3, 2, 1.....Happy New Year!!!  Wishing that 2016 brings a year full of love, laughter, health, happiness, peace and lots of new adventures.  {December 31}

Christmas 2015

Now that I have packed away all of the Christmas decorations and our house is back in order, I  am ready to recap our Christmas with lots of pictures and memories!  Kevin's sister and parents came to spend the Christmas holiday with us.  They all arrived on the morning of the 23rd.

Surprisingly, there was no snow just rain and the weather was a little wacky.  We decided we would spend the afternoon bowling.  This was hilarious!

First, my father in-law took this outing very seriously and was in it to win it!  He had a whole breathing regimen before each bowl and even had a hop at the end.  It was too funny!

My mother in-law was different story, she threw her ball instead of rolling it.

Again it provided lots of laughs!  The boys all had fun bowling as well.  After bowling, we went out to dinner and then drove through the Christmas lights displays.

Christmas Eve morning, we decorated cookies for Santa.

Just look at all the sprinkles!

Even with all the sprinkles, I think they turned out perfect!

Aunt Jen-Jen and Rylan tried to make the gingerbread train that our elf brought to the boys.

Somehow these always look easier on the box but they did a pretty good job.

We attend the Christmas Eve candlelight service together.  This is always a favorite of mine.

We enjoyed dinner, a few carolers and set out cookies and reindeer food for Santa and his reindeer.

Can't you just see the Christmas Eve excitement!

I snuck downstairs to snap a few pictures after Santa visited our house!  The stockings were filled and there were lots of fun surprises waiting for the boys.

As you can imagine, Christmas morning was lots of fun and lots of gifts.   I love all of the boys faces.

I gave my father in-law a selfie stick as a joke but I have a feeling we will see lots of pictures in the weeks to come.

Both boys received Graffiti snowboards and Rylan went right to work.

Holden and Rylan were dying to try out their new electric scooters so we all went out for a walk.

Merry Christmas from our wild crew!

We finished off our Christmas festivities with dinner and then we all watch Minions together.

Sometimes the day after Christmas is just as fun as Christmas Day.  This year they boys woke up ready to play with their new toys.  We also played one of their new games of Charades...all I can say is this is a new family favorite!  Around lunch time, my father in-laws cousins from Milwaukee came down to visit.

We visited, ate lunch/dinner, and played Charades again...it was a lot of fun!  Did I mention we had lots of food!

After lots of playing and laughs, it was time for Aunt Jen-Jen to head back to Atlanta.  The boys were sad.

So while Leyton napped, I took the older boys ice skating so they could tryout their new hockey mask and gloves.  I am sure you can guess, they loved them.  I am not sure why I did not buy these earlier...they really made me feel safer while they were on the ice.

Again we played lots of games that night together.  Monday morning....the snow began to fall.  I am not talking about a little bit of snow but more like blizzard conditions!  The wind was blowing so much that the snow hurt.

The kids played a little in the snow but decided to head back inside.  We played a few more games together.  Pie Face was a HUGE hit!  Just look at these faces.

Kevin and I had planned on going out since his parents were still here and we did but after almost getting stuck in the parking lot at Eno Vino, we called it a night.

I think we were home before 8:00!  Oh, well.

Tuesday, Kevin's parents headed back to Atlanta, Kevin went back to work and I took the boys sledding.

Everything has calmed down, the house is clean and put back in order as we finish out 2015 with a few fun activities in the days to come.  Merry Christmas to you all...I honestly can not believe how fast Christmas came and went this year.
