Spring Break Road Trip {Stop #2}

Our next stop on the Spring Break Road Trip was to our old stomping ground, Cincinnati, Ohio.   Originally the plan was to stay downtown for the night and see some friends the next day but on our drive, I get a text from my friend saying that they all had the flu.  And Holden's other friend that we were planning on seeing on Monday had the flu as well, we were two for two.  YIKES!  We decided to stay clear but went ahead with our plans to stay the night and visit some of our favorite places.  Since we were staying downtown we decide to try Lachey's Bar for dinner.  The owners are Drew and Nick Lachey.  If you remember when we lived in Cincinnati, Drew and his family would frequent our neighborhood pool.  The restaurant was within walking distance from the hotel and the kids thought it was cool that they remember the owner.

I have to say I was impressed!  The food was great!  The kids all ate their meals and I had a fantastic kale salad.  If we still lived here, we would visit again before a Reds or Bengals game for sure.

Monday morning, we headed to the Museum Center.  I have to say, I really miss living in Cincinnati. The museums for the kids are just fantastic!  We spent the day exploring the Children's Museum, The History Museum and Natural History Museum.  Here is a little glimpse of our day....

Holden and Kevin went to an IMAX movie on National Parks while I took the little boys back to the Children's Museum for lots of building and playing.  After watching the IMAX movie, Holden and Kevin are now planning our family trip out west.

Once we finished visiting all the exhibits, we drove by our old house before dinner at a new shopping center that opened near our old house.  Sigh.  After dinner, we walked to Greaters Ice Cream.  Really, how could we visit Cincinnati and not indulge at Greaters.

It was a fun day even though we did not get to see our time hopefully.  Early Tuesday morning, we were headed out to our next stop on our Spring Break Road Trip.....
