Fall Farm Days

The kids were out of school this past Friday for parent teacher conferences.  The wether forecast called for a chilly but sunny day....perfect for a trip to the farm.   I decided to try out and new farm that was not too far from our house.

Fall has definitely arrived here in the midwest and the colors are gorgeous!  Our drive to the farm was pretty spectacular.

As soon as we arrived at the farm, the boys wanted to try out their homemade apple cider donuts.  I knew as soon as we walked in, it was going to be a good day.  It was so cute and family run.  The apple cider donuts were just coming out of the over so we made ourselves at home playing checkers and other table games.

After a few sweet treats, we walked around the farm, taking in the sights.

They had farm games set up and these three had so much fun.

But I have to say, the most fun was jumping on the hay bales.

They also had a baby kitten house where Leyton feel in love with a these little creatures.  I have a  hilarious video of him signing to the cat.  If I can get it to upload I will, but in the meantime, here are these sweet pictures.

We rode the tractor out to the pumpkin patch.  Again, the views were beautiful.  All three boys picked out pumpkins to bring home.

Lots of fun at the farm on our day off.

Sunday, we decided to take advantage of the unseasonably warm weather and head out to another farm.  Trust me, after living here for almost two years, you take advantage of good weather because soon it will be freezing.

This farm had some farm games but the best part about this farm is the huge potato sack slide out of the woods.  I just love Leyton expression....pure joy!

The kids rode the slide several times before we headed to the corn maze.

We walked through the corn maze without losing any kids so I call that a success!

Fall family days are the best but I do think I have a new favorite farm and it has to be Sutter's Ridge (the one the boys and I visited together).  So much to do, very laid back, lots of animals, pumpkins, homemade treats and lets face it, the views were pretty amazing.  We are hoping the weather will hold out just a little longer to enjoy more fall activities together.
