Snow Day!

Last Sunday was our first snow of the season.

It's hard to believe that winter is here again.  The snow began early in the morning and when we left church we already had a few inches of snow on the ground.

Holden had indoor baseball practice so he only had a little time for fun in the snow.

It was a wet snow, perfect for snowman building.  I could not find our snowman kit, you know the one with the wooden eyes, nose, scarf and hate so we made do....

It was a fun day spent in the snow with these two munchkins.

As luck would have it, the following Saturday the weather forecasters were calling for another round of snow.  But before the snow began to fall, the boys enjoyed the newly frozen pond.

Even little Leyton has his own hockey stick.

This time, it started snowing around 4 and did not stop until 6 pm the next day.

Since it was a winter wonderland outside, we opted for "home church" and our Annual North Pole Breakfast.  I will post more on our breakfast later.

The snow fall continued all day but the kids wanted to go sledding so we decided to dig our way out.

This was first big snow fall and I think everyone had the same idea to visit our local sledding hill.

This was probably the most crowded that I've seen this hill ever.  However, the crowds did not stop the boys from enjoying some great sledding down the hill.  Holden and Rylan both snowboarded and even though it has been a few months, they did great.  After a full day of fun in the snow, we called it a day to warm up and wash about 20 loads of wet snow clothes to do it all again the next day.

I think it is safe to say that winter has arrived.  We are expecting 8 to 12 inches of snow tomorrow!
