Christmas 2016

Our Christmas Break began with a ride on the Polar Express Train on Thursday night with Rylan and Leyton.

It was so much fun and festive, even with me on crutches.  Friday, Kevin's sister arrived and the snow began to fall.  Jennifer and the boys went ice skating at the pond before the snow really began to fall.   At one point it was a complete white out.

Sadako and I enjoyed the snow from the inside while the boys went sledding.

Kevin's dad decided to join them and thankfully, they all came home in one piece!

Christmas Eve we decorated cookies and Jennifer and Rylan worked on a gingerbread house.

Leyton and Holden decorated cookies and followed the rule of decorate one, eat one, decorate one eat one.  You know for quality control.

Leyton and Grammy ended up finishing the gingerbread house.  It turned out pretty cute.

We went to Christmas Eve service which is always a favorite of mine.

With all the Christmas excitement, these three were all dressed in their Christmas pjs.

They set out cookies and carrots for Santa and his reindeer before heading to bed.

Christmas morning was filled with excitement and thrills.  Leyton was so excited that he just did not know where to start!

The boys spent most of the day playing games.

Dad-daddy taught them how to play poker and now they are hooked.

The day after Christmas they boys tried out their new toys, we all went bowling.

Well, I watched and everyone else bowled.

The remainder of Christmas break we filled with movies, games, hockey and some rest.

As much as I was dreading being a little "down" this Christmas it all turned out okay,  Sure, I missed out on the snow activities outside but I am sure in a few weeks when I am all cleared, we will still have plenty of snow to play with outside.  Other than a little pain and discomfort, it was a very Merry Christmas for us all!  Now onto 2017 and all that it will bring!
