Memorial Day Weekend

Hard to believe it is Memorial Day weekend already. Well, maybe it is because we are still in jean and jackets around here....anyways.  Leyton's last day of Preschool was on Friday and they had a park day with the class.  (If you are wondering, yes, it was only 50 degrees on Thursday/Friday! )

Leyton's teachers were great this year and we will miss them terribly!

Saturday, Holden and Kevin headed to Iowa for a baseball tournament at the Field of Dream, yes, as in the movie Field of Dreams.

I stayed back with Rylan and Leyton.  Saturday I took the boys to the Zoo.  We saw all of their favorite animals before it started to get crowded.

After the zoo the boys wanted to play at the house so that is what we did, we went to the park and just played.  Sunday, Rylan had a lacrosse game.  Rylan has really taken to lacrosse and has declared it his favorite sport.  He is definitely not scared to get in there and get the ball.  Rylan ended up scoring 7 of his teams 13 points and two of the final points in the last minute of the game that ended with his team winning 13-11!

It was lots of fun to watch him play.  Next choice for the boys, they wanted to go to the pool....thankfully, our pool is heated!  We stayed at the pool most of the afternoon before calling it a day.

Monday, Kevin and Holden returned and we rode bikes, played Home Run Derby, went to the park, and grilled out.  A perfect ending to a busy weekend.  We did not forget to remember why we celebrate Memorial Day.

"Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends." John 15:13

Happy Memorial Day!

Life Lately

Ahhh, life lately has been filled with more rain, cold temperatures and did I mention more rain?  Wisconsin, you are killing me!  Seriously, I think we live in Seattle, it has rained for the past two months it seems like and to be honest as I sit here right now, it is raining again.

With the end of the school year getting closer, the boys have had some extra time to play.

Leyton has stayed busy with soccer, swimming and gymnastics.

Leyton and I cleaned out our garden and planted some new vegetables for the summer.  Fingers crossed we do not have another freeze!

Rylan's second grade class lead the Mass last Friday and they did a fantastic job!
These three look like trouble but they sure are cute!

New scooters and the skate park on Friday was much needed before the rain headed back in.

Holden had lacrosse and baseball in the cold rain.  It was miserable but they ended up winning both.

No school on Monday which meant bowling on a rainy not school day.

Trying to remember to focus on what matters most especially when life seems a little crazy and chaotic.

Well, thats a little of what's been going on around here.  The boys have two weeks left of school and as we all know, the countdown to summer has begun!

Little kickers

Monday morning are pretty busy around here.  Leyton has gymnastics and then soccer "Little Kickers".  This is his first soccer class and he seems to be enjoying it.  Honestly, as long as he is running around, he is a pretty happy boy.

However, this class focuses on learning the skills of soccer and the director of the class is really great with the kids so it is a win for everyone.

They work on foot skills, passing, shooting, and running!

Leyton is all about making a goal!

However when he caught me taking pictures, this is the attitude I received.....

Ahh, life with a 4 year old.

As you can see, Leyton is having a lot of fun learning to play soccer this spring.
