Parky's Pirate Cove

When I first read about this wet playground, I knew it was a must visit this summer! I think the name says it all....Parky's Pirate Cove! A little pirate's dream. I mean really, first a ride on The Black Dragon pirate ship in Texas and now a Pirate wet playground. What more could one ask for? Now even though this park is part of the Hamilton County Parks it was not exactly close to the house, but so worth the drive! When we drove up, both boys were screaming with excitement. Just one look at the pictures and you can see why...this place was ADORABLE! Not only was it shaped like a pirate ship that squirted water, but there was a treasure chest, cannons, barrels of water, nets of fish, palm trees, slides and so much more! Parky's Pirate Cove provided hours of fun a must visit for next summers plans!

Stokes Raspberry Farm

I love summer, especially all the fresh fruits and vegetables! But most of all, I love finding great new farms to pick your own. Yesterday, the boys and I visited Stokes Raspberry Farm. This farm was HUGE! Not only did it acres and acres of raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries but this farm was beautiful! Now, I probably did not pick the "right" day to go raspberry picking since it just happened to be the hottest day of the year thus far. Mistake on my part but the boys had fun even though it was a scorcher! But do not fear, Rylan found a way to cool himself off!We did not pick as many as I had wanted, but the ones we did pick were delicious. Stokes Farm is a must visit again very soon!!

Quote of the Day

As we set out for the Raspberry Farm this morning, I was explaining to Holden that we really had to drink alot of water since it was so hot out this morning. He kept asking, "What happens if you get too hot?" and I said, "If you get too hot you may get get sick and throw up."

Holden is always one for a comment and said, "Daddy really needs to drink more water and not so much beer. So he does not get sick."

Oh Holden!! Thanks for the Public Service Announcement, I will let Daddy know!!!

4th of July Weekend

We had a fun filled 4th of July weekend. We attended a birthday party BBQ on Friday, Red, Rhythm & Boom festivities and fireworks on Saturday, the neighborhood bike parade and more fireworks on Sunday! However, our plans on Sunday changed a bit after a small fall from Rylan and both boys exhaustion from all the late nights. Instead, we ended up pairing our fireworks with the neighbors and having a great time. And since I had already made cupcakes, we shared them with our fireworks friends. Happy 4th of July 2010!

Parky's Ark

Our outing Thursday was to Parky's Ark! Parky's Ark is located in Winton Woods, another great area park, which is becoming one of my favorites. Now, we have visited Winton Woods before, don't you remember all the fun the kids had a Parky's Farm during Spring Break?? Well, Parky's Ark is located on the other side of this huge park, I read somewhere that Winton Woods has more than 4000 acres and I believe it! It has a huge lake, hiking trails, campgrounds, Parky's Farm, Park's Ark, playgrounds, paddle boats, canoes, and the list could go on and on. This park is a jewel!
Parky's Ark is shaped like Noah's Ark with animals that squirt water, there is a slide, rainbow, mushrooms, and more animals!
The boys had a blast!!

We could not leave without having ice cream! What a mess! I think you can see, this is one of Rylan's favorite treats!
I just love fun days at the park, especially all the great ones we have found lately.
