School Christmas Parties

I am a little behind with posting but last Thursday was Holden's class Christmas Party. I volunteered to help out and we made a beaded ornament for a craft and some other "special surprises" I was under strict instructions not to look. After the kids completed their crafts it was time for a little party. Instead of having a traditional party with a feast and such, the kids made their own ice cream sundaes. Sounds a little funny but the class was beyond excited. Just look at Holden's face as he has full reign of the chocolate syrup! What a fun morning.

Rylan's class party was on Tuesday and it was the traditional party with songs, can you see what a ham he is, he loves to sing and dance, followed a birthday cake for Jesus, a feast with lots of food and even a book exchange. Holden was with me and I think he had just as much fun as Rylan. Oh, the school memories we have together.

Doctor On Call

Christmas break is in full swing and the boys are enjoying their playtime together while I get organized for Christmas. Today it was rainy, cold and a perfect day for dressing up. When all of a sudden Holden runs upstairs to introduce Dr. Rylan to me. First he did a thorough exam on his patient, well he needed to take a closer look. The verdict? I think he will be just fine and Doctor Rylan is ready for his next house call. I will have to keep these pictures, maybe one day they will line his doctor office walls. You never know.

Running out of time

Christmas is less than 4 days away and we are busy finishing up ornaments for the boys to give as gifts and visiting the local lights around town. This really is the best time of the year.

Christmas Treats

I love making holiday treats, especially at this time of the year. Here are just a couple of treat I've made in the past couple of days. As we are wishing for a "White Christmas" I thought these snowman donuts would help our cause. Then there are cookies to make, I think I have made over 24 dozen between parties, neighbor gifts, teacher gifts, and whoever else I could think of but I think the cutest ones were Rudolph. And since I love my waffle maker so much, I thought up these Santa Hats. I found a cute waffle Christmas tree on Pintrest but I am saving that for closer to the actual day. Finally, the boys gifts for friends, I made Christmas tree brownies with a cookie cutter attached. There are so many other fun treats to make but these are just a few of our favorites this year.

Pack the kids up...

One of the boys favorite activities during the holidays is to go look at the lights. We get our pj's on, pop the popcorn, cook the cookies and plop in the car to find the best lights around the neighborhoods. The boys love the houses that you tune your radio to a station and the lights dance to the songs. And then there are the houses that do not have a piece of grass that is not covered by the lights or a lighted yard ornament, these are favorites too. Christmas lights, christmas lights, and more christmas lights, I do not think the boys will ever grow old looking for the best decorated houses.
