Off to see the lights...

Kevin's parents and sister where in town visiting for Christmas.  To help us all get into the Christmas spirit we went out Sunday night looking at lights around our neighborhood.

To make the night a little more special, I printed some tickets for each of us for the night and off we all went to see the lights.

The boys enjoyed the night so much that they all three fell asleep before we made it back home!

Nothing like making Christmas memories with the family.

3 Weeks Old

Leyton is 3 Weeks old today!

It has been a busy week!  Leyton and I did our first real week of taking the boys to and from school, he saw his first snow on Friday and on Saturday meet his grandparents, Kevin's parents, for the first time.

Happy 3 weeks Leyton...two more days till your very first Christmas.

Christmas Parties

I knew a couple of months ago that Christmas parties were going to be a little tricky for me.  Not just because of having a newborn but the fact that both boys parties were the same day and started at the same time.  Normally Kevin and I would have divided and conquered but with Leyton I was not sure how we were going to swing it all.  I woke up Friday morning feeling pretty proud of myself, I had all teacher gifts finished and wrapped, classmates gifts finished, Rylan's costume for his class play completed, and our party contributions, treats, all ready and all in the car. Well, I forgot to mention when we woke up it had snowed and was bitterly cold, however, I got everyone delivered to school with gifts and made it back to the house.  I fed and changed Leyton and we made our way to Rylan's party to get him dressed for his play.  At this point, I should have lowered my expectations, when I walked in to get Rylan dressed for the play, he let me know that I was late, great.  Really, I was not that late but I suppose Rylan is used to be being one of the first there that this just was not normal for me.  However, after he was dressed it was time for their play to begin.  Rylan was a "Wiseman" and his line in the play was "Gold".

I think he should have been re-named as the "wise guy".  Look at him and his buddy Grant just hamming it up!

It is a good thing his teacher Miss Linda has alot of patients and a sense of humor with these two.  Bless her heart!  Grant's grandparents were at the program and party too and leaned over and said, "Those two look like they have alot of fun." Well, I guess that is one way of putting it!  HA!  With all laughter put aside the kids did a wonderful job singing and performing.  I really do love this age, they are so sweet when they sing and Rylan is always keeping us on our toes!

After Rylan's party it was time to feed Leyton again before going to Holden's party.  Well, once again, I should have lowered my expectations, again I was late for the luncheon but I made it to help out.  Holden was disappointed with me also, this seemed to be an ongoing theme Friday with me.

I missed the big reveal of the room.  All of the kids are sent out to Music and when they come back the lights are all off and they eat by candle light and have a fancy lunch with china.  The kids thought this was special.

They had a special dessert and finish the day with an ornament exchange.

Well, I suppose I should keep expectations low for the next couple of months as I adjust to school, preschool, and a newborns schedule.  But all and all we survived all of the Christmas school festivities and are now looking forward to a break.

First Bath

It has been a full week of "first" for Leyton.  To add to his week of first, he had his first bath.  The boys were all in the bathroom helping out with the towels, heater, and everything else they thought he needed.  With the water warm we gave it a shot.

He absolutely loved it!  He just sat in his tub, soaking in the suds.

When it was time to get out of the bath, he had the funniest look on his face, it was almost like he was saying, "Ohhhh, that was nice!"

After a nice warm first bath, it was time to call it a night.

Well at least for 3 hours that is.

Tummy Time

Tummy time for all three boys has had very different reactions.  For Holden, he screamed and spit-up each time, Rylan loved it so much he would fall asleep, and now Leyton loved it but most of all he enjoyed looking all around to see what was going on.

I am sure you can guess who was right beside him for his tummy time...

Rylan.  He was telling him "good job, little buddy"  it was pretty funny.

Overall, Leyton enjoyed his time on his tummy.

Just another first for this week...that I had to document.  Time fly's by so quickly that I want to  make sure I capture everything.  I heard a quote the other day that keeps running through my head, "You have a child forever but a baby for only a year, enjoy it, it does not last long."  This is so true, nothing last forever, and I am sure I will look back on this time and ask the same question in a year, "Where did the time go?" So you will have to bear with me as I document all of Leyton's "firsts",  just as I did with the boys.  We do not want the poor little guy to feel left out, now do we!

2 Weeks Old...Already?!

Leyton is 2 weeks old!  This week he has opened his little eyes a little more.  Our little guy is eating and getting bigger each day.  We had his two week appointment this past Friday and he gained 9 ounces in 7 days which is great!

This week we were also showered with meals, cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and beautiful monogrammed gifts from friends.  I just love anything monogrammed!

I think that is just part of being from the South, you personalize any and every thing!  Not only was I so appreciative of everything brought this week.  It was such a huge blessing to have dinner already prepared as we adjust to having a new little one and still trying to keep everything normal and on schedule for Holden and Rylan.

The boys are still in love with Leyton and can't wait to see him each morning.  It really is precious however, we still have to "gently" remind them each day about being care around the baby and not touch him so much but I guess it could be alot worse.  I keep reminding myself they are still little and everything takes time. I know it is hard to resist this little sweet face!

I can not believe it has been 2 weeks since this little guy entered our lives and captured our hearts.  Happy 2 weeks Leyton!
