Fall Break in Colorado {Part 3}

One of the "must" sights to see in Colorado Spring is Pikes Peak.  There are a couple of different ways to see the mountain but we decided that a Jeep tour would work best for us.

Our tour guide had scavenger hunts for each of the boys.  Since the mountain is more that 16,000 feet above sea level, it is recommended to make several stops along the way so that you do not get sick due to the altitude.

On our first stop, our guide showed us where the movie Fast and Furious 7 was filmed.  At the moment, Holden is really into cars so he thought this was a pretty cool.

We had a few "big foot" sightings as well.

As we were driving up the mountain, the views were beautiful but I was so nervous!  There were no guard rails on the roads and the drops were crazy!!

We stopped a few times to take in the views before finally making it to the top.  After reaching the top of the Summit we had to bundle up because it was COLD!  We tried for a quick picture and this was the best we could get before we froze.

We made our way back down the mountain safely and decided that having my nerves shot for the view was well worth the experience.

We gave the kids a few options on how we could spend the afternoon.  They all asked to go back to the Garden of the Gods to go hiking.  So we spent the afternoon exploring and taking in the sights.

Such beauty with my little explorers!

On our last day in Colorado, we headed back to Denver to the Air Force Museum.  We checked out the planes before making our way to the airport.

Such a fun trip filled with so much beauty, memories, laughs and adventures.

We will definitely have to plan another trip to Colorado soon.
