Last weekend we went canoeing on the Wisconsin River. We did this last year and the kids absolutely loved it. This time we decided to do the 12 mile route as opposed to the 5 mile one we did last year. Well, as soon as we started we knew we may have chosen too much. We have two canoes, me and the little boys in one and Kevin and Holden in the other.
We stopped at sandbars and played football, played in the sand before continuing on our journey.
We saw lots of turtles, birds and other creatures along the way. This would not have been so hard if they had been a currant but there was absolutely nothing!! Which meant we rowed the entire time. Just to put this into perspective, this route should have taken us 3 hours to complete however, it took 5 hours!! It was fun, peaceful, well except for the complaints at the end from the kids claiming we chose the 27 mile route and did not tell them. However, we survived and have lots of memories and laughs to last a few years.
